Attitude vs influence: What is the attitude towards our organisation, versus what is the influence on our organisation? Stakeholders with a negative attitude but a lot of influence are usually the focus in relationship management.
Informed vs attitude: How well-informed is the stakeholder and how familiar are they with our organisation, versus what is this stakeholders attitude toward us? This model focuses primarily on well-informed stakeholders who have a negative attitude; building a better relationship could help change that negative attitude.
Influence vs impact: Which stakeholders have the most influence, versus what impact do they have on the success of our organisation? Organisations that have both impact and influence tend to have the focus in relationship management.
Getting value vs bringing value: How much value does the stakeholder offer us, versus how much value do we offer? If the relationship is reciprocal, building relationships is relatively easy. In relationship management, it is mainly about stakeholders who offer us a lot of value, but not the other way around.
